Full shooting script

0:00–0:20 — The ten-second test

[ON CAMERA · medium shot]

Open ChatGPT and type: “Any good tools for tracking brand mentions in ChatGPT and Perplexity?”

[SCREEN INSERT · show the prompt being entered; do not linger on a fabricated answer]

Now scan the answer. Is your brand named? Is a competitor named instead? And if the answer includes sources, is your site—or any page that talks accurately about you—being cited?

If you cannot answer those three questions, your brand may be invisible at the exact moment a buyer is building a shortlist.

[ON-SCREEN TEXT] Mentioned? Recommended? Cited?

0:20–0:55 — Why one manual check misleads

[ON CAMERA, then fast B-roll of ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini]

But one search is not a visibility strategy. AI answers change by engine, prompt wording, market and time. A single screenshot is an anecdote.

You could repeat dozens of buyer questions manually across every AI platform, copy the answers into a spreadsheet, count your competitors, inspect the citations and do it all again next week. That is possible. It is also exactly the kind of repetitive measurement most marketing teams stop doing consistently.

What you need is a stable prompt set, repeated across the same engines, with enough context to decide what to fix.

0:55–1:25 — What MaxAEO is

[ON CAMERA · product logo appears after the problem is clear]

MaxAEO is an AI search visibility monitoring and optimization platform. It tracks how a brand is mentioned, positioned, described and sourced across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Grok, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overview.

[LOWER THIRD] 8 AI surfaces · Brand + competitors · Sentiment + citations · Optimization actions

It is not just a rank checker. The useful question is not, “What number did I get?” It is, “Why did this answer favor another brand, which sources shaped it, and what is the next action we can actually execute?”

1:25–2:05 — The real case: MaxAEO checks MaxAEO

[SCREEN · dated title card: Case snapshot: W2-2026-06-30]

For this walkthrough, we are using MaxAEO itself as the case. That keeps the example real, including the uncomfortable parts.

This snapshot covers four buyer-intent questions about tracking brand mentions, comparing competitors, monitoring sentiment and understanding recommendations across AI chatbots.

Across 217 recorded AI answers, MaxAEO appeared 9 times: a 4.14% mention rate, ranking 43rd in the tracked brand landscape. In the same dataset, OtterlyAI had 146 mentions, Profound 143 and Peec AI 111.

[OVERLAY · animate one line at a time]

  • MaxAEO: 9 / 217 answers
  • Mention rate: 4.14%
  • Landscape rank: #43
  • Top comparison: OtterlyAI 146 · Profound 143 · Peec AI 111

That is not a success-story screenshot. It is a useful baseline because it tells us where to investigate.

2:05–5:10 — Three-minute core walkthrough

[SCREEN RECORDING · continuous take; cursor highlight on; browser zoom 110–125%; no unrelated cuts]

2:05–2:35 — Confirm the question set and engines

Open the MaxAEO project and go to Monitoring.

Before reading any score, confirm the inputs: the brand, competitors, market, four commercial prompts and selected AI engines. Here we are monitoring the same questions across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Grok, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overview.

[ZOOM on prompt list]

The prompt set is the measurement instrument. If you change it every time, the trend stops being comparable.

2:35–3:10 — Read the overview, then compare brands

Move to the visibility overview and Brand Comparison.

The first signal is presence: across this dated dataset, MaxAEO is mentioned in 9 of 217 answers. The second is relative position: the leading brands appear far more often.

[ZOOM on MaxAEO and top-three competitor rows; add clean editor overlays if the live UI is crowded]

Do not stop at “we are low.” Ask where the difference is concentrated. Which questions consistently name OtterlyAI, Profound or Peec AI while omitting MaxAEO? Those prompt clusters are the beginning of an action plan.

3:10–3:50 — Open an answer and inspect the narrative

Open one high-intent answer from the monitored prompt set. Check three things:

  1. Was MaxAEO mentioned at all?
  2. Which competitors were recommended, and in what context?
  3. How did the answer describe the category and the winning brands?

Now open Sentiment Analysis. A neutral or positive label is only the start; read the actual language. If the answer frames a competitor as enterprise-ready and your brand as unknown, the action is not “improve sentiment.” The action is to publish clearer proof for the enterprise use case and place it where AI systems already retrieve evidence.

[CALLOUT] Read the sentence, not only the color.

3:50–4:30 — Trace the citation and source gap

Next, open Citation Analysis and inspect the URLs supporting that answer.

In this action’s source data, a Ryan Robinson YouTube tutorial about AI visibility is already being cited across the monitored questions. It defines the tool category, names the covered AI platforms and walks through a real product on screen.

MaxAEO did not have an equivalent owned-channel tutorial. That is a source-format gap: the audience—and the AI systems surfacing video evidence—already reward this format, but the brand has no first-party asset competing in it.

[SCREEN HIGHLIGHT] cited YouTube source → missing MaxAEO owned-channel equivalent.

4:30–5:10 — Turn the gap into one action

Go to the Optimization Center. Instead of exporting a hundred observations, select the highest-evidence action:

Publish a 5–15 minute MaxAEO YouTube tutorial that uses a problem → tool → brand-case workflow, includes a three-minute screen demonstration, and answers the exact monitored questions about mentions, competitors, sentiment and citations.

That is the action you are watching now.

[EDIT · split screen] left: cited Ryan tutorial; right: MaxAEO action card; arrow labeled Observed source gap → owned asset.

The dashboard did not “solve GEO” for us. It reduced a noisy dataset to a defensible next move.

5:10–6:35 — Four common gaps and what to do next

[ON CAMERA with four-quadrant graphic]

Your report will usually reveal one of four gaps.

One: you are not mentioned.

Build evidence for the exact commercial question where you are absent: a clear use-case page, comparison, tutorial, data-backed guide or third-party placement that answers the question directly.

Two: you are mentioned, but competitors dominate.

Compare the prompts where they win. Look for missing audience proof, features, category language, customer examples or authoritative mentions. The goal is not to attack the competitor. It is to make your best-fit scenario explicit and supported.

Three: your narrative is weak, inaccurate or negative.

Open the underlying answers. Clarify the claims AI systems keep repeating, strengthen trusted product and company information, and publish evidence that addresses the exact ambiguity.

Four: the wrong sources are carrying the category.

Trace what AI engines cite. If videos, review sites, industry articles or community discussions shape the answer, your strategy cannot stop at your own blog. Earn or create credible coverage in the source formats that already appear.

[ON-SCREEN RULE] One gap → one owner → one asset or placement → one re-test date

6:35–7:25 — What MaxAEO cannot promise

[ON CAMERA · static shot, music drops slightly]

An important limitation: MaxAEO cannot guarantee a citation, a number-one recommendation, traffic or revenue. No tool can control how an AI engine answers every user.

It also does not remove the execution work. Your team still needs to create the content, improve the product evidence, earn the placement or fix the site.

The proof is a controlled re-test. Keep the same prompts, engines, market and cadence. Record the publication or change date. Then compare mention rate, competitor position, narrative and citations after the next monitoring cycles.

If the inputs changed, do not present the movement as a clean before-and-after result.

7:25–8:10 — The workflow in one sentence

[ANIMATION · five nodes appear left to right]

Here is the full workflow:

Set the buyer questions. Monitor the same AI engines. Compare your brand with competitors. Inspect the answer, sentiment and sources. Execute one prioritized action—then run the same test again.

[ON CAMERA]

That is the difference between checking whether ChatGPT knows your name and building a repeatable AI visibility program.

If you want to see where your brand appears—and where competitors are being recommended instead—start your AI visibility check at https://maxaeo.ai/.

Do not try to fix everything on day one. Choose one commercial prompt cluster, identify the largest evidence gap, assign one action and set the re-test date.

And comment below with the AI engine that surprised you most. I will use the most common answers for the next walkthrough.
