They see one answer—and if that answer recommends three competitors and never mentions you, your brand is not in the consideration set.

Today I’m going to show you the workflow I use to answer three questions: Where is my brand showing up? Where is it missing? And what would I actually fix first?

0:35–0:55 — Sponsor and affiliate disclosure

SCREEN — Return to Ryan on camera. The link in the description may be an affiliate link, which means I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. They are not getting a perfect-results demo, though. I’m going to show you the useful parts, the weak baseline, and what this kind of tool does not do.

0:55–1:35 — What MaxAEO measures

SCREEN — Animate the eight supported platform names from the official MaxAEO site. In the product UI, show only the surfaces actually enabled for the sponsor account.

RYAN

MaxAEO is an AI-search brand visibility platform that monitors brand mentions, sentiment, competitors, and cited sources across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Grok, Google AI Mode, and Google AI Overview.

The key difference from a normal rank tracker is the unit you are measuring. This is not just a keyword in a ten-blue-links result. It is a real question someone asks an AI assistant, the answer that assistant produces, the brands it recommends, the language it uses, and the sources it cites.

MaxAEO supports eight AI surfaces. Your plan or test account may enable a subset, so check the account configuration instead of assuming every surface is active.

1:35–2:20 — Define the test before opening the dashboard

SCREEN — Title card:
Demo scope: one brand · four commercial-intent prompts · dated snapshot
. Show the four prompt themes, shortened on screen:

tools for tracking brand mentions in ChatGPT and Perplexity;

monitoring how AI search engines talk about a brand;

sentiment analysis across AI chatbots;

competitor recommendations in ChatGPT.

RYAN

Before clicking around, define the test. One brand, a fixed group of commercial-intent questions, a known set of AI platforms, and a date. If you change the prompts or platforms between scans, you are not comparing the same experiment.

For this walkthrough, I’m using four intent clusters that matter to a marketing team: mentions, brand perception, sentiment, and competitor recommendations.

2:20–4:40 — The screen-led workflow

2:20–2:55 — Start with mention rate, not a vanity score

SCREEN — Open the visibility overview. Keep the date range visible. Slowly highlight mention rate and platform breakdown.

RYAN

This first view answers the blunt question: out of the answers MaxAEO checked, how often did the brand appear? I care more about the breakdown than the headline number. A single average can hide the fact that you show up in one engine and disappear in another.

2:55–3:25 — Open the prompt gaps

SCREEN — Open prompt-level results. Highlight one mentioned prompt and one missing prompt. Do not reveal private client names.

RYAN

Next, go to the prompt level. This is where a dashboard becomes an editorial plan. A missing mention on a low-value curiosity question is very different from a missing mention when someone is actively asking for a tool, comparing vendors, or looking for a recommendation.

I would label the high-intent gaps first. Those are the questions where being absent can remove you from the shortlist.

3:25–3:50 — Check how the AI describes you

SCREEN — Open sentiment or brand-perception analysis. Highlight the exact answer text behind one classification.

RYAN

Then check sentiment, but do not stop at a green or red label. Read the answer. A brand can be mentioned and still be framed as expensive, too technical, too small, or suited to the wrong customer. Visibility without accurate positioning is not a complete win.

3:50–4:15 — Compare share of voice

SCREEN — Open the competitor benchmark. Highlight MaxAEO, Otterly AI, Profound, and Peec AI only if they are present in the current workspace or in the dated case overlay.

RYAN

Now compare competitors on the same prompts. This shows whether you have a category-wide problem or a brand-specific problem. If everyone is rarely mentioned, the topic may be immature. If two competitors dominate while you are absent, the gap is much more actionable.

4:15–4:40 — Trace the sources behind the answers

SCREEN — Open citation tracing. Highlight source domains and one article/video-level example.

RYAN

Finally, inspect the sources the AI answers cite. This is one of the most useful views because it changes the question from “How do I make more content?” to “Which sources are already trusted for this exact answer, and what would earn relevant inclusion there?”

4:40–5:50 — The honest case: MaxAEO’s own weak baseline

SCREEN — Use a clearly labeled graphic, not a live customer dashboard:

MaxAEO W2 sample snapshot · 2026-06-30 · 4 monitored prompt clusters · 217 AI answers

Show:
Mention rate: 4.1% · Rank: 43 of 228 observed brands
. Then show the leading observed brands: OtterlyAI, Profound, Peec AI. Add footnote:
Snapshot-specific; not a customer result or guaranteed outcome.

RYAN

Here is why I like using an imperfect case in a sponsored video. In this dated monitoring snapshot, MaxAEO’s own brand appeared in about 4.1 percent of 217 AI answers and ranked forty-third among 228 brands observed in the result set.

That is not a victory-lap chart. It is a baseline. OtterlyAI, Profound, and Peec AI were appearing much more often in these tracked conversations.

The useful takeaway is not “press a button and jump to number one.” It is that the team can see exactly which high-intent questions exclude the brand, which competitors own those answers, and which sources keep getting cited. That gives them a falsifiable plan they can re-test with the same prompts later.

5:50–6:55 — Turn the diagnosis into three actions

SCREEN — Show a three-card overlay, then return to the relevant MaxAEO views for each card.

RYAN

I would turn this diagnosis into three work streams.

First, close the query-coverage gaps. Build or improve content that directly answers the missing high-intent questions, with clear product definitions, use cases, limitations, and evidence. Do not publish ten generic posts when two specific answer gaps are doing the damage.

Second, work backward from citations. If AI answers repeatedly rely on a particular YouTube creator, industry publication, comparison page, or community thread, that is a distribution clue. The goal is not to copy the source. It is to earn accurate inclusion in the places already shaping the answer.

Third, re-run the same test. Keep the prompt set, platform set, and date range documented. AI answers change, so one scan is a baseline—not a permanent grade.

MaxAEO also has an optimization workflow that turns these gaps into recommended actions and content work. Treat those as prioritized recommendations, not guaranteed ranking instructions.

6:55–7:45 — Where MaxAEO fits, and where it does not

SCREEN — Ryan on camera. Use two columns:
Good fit
and
Not the whole job
.

RYAN

My honest verdict: MaxAEO makes the most sense for a founder, marketing team, SEO or AEO operator, or agency that wants one workflow for monitoring mentions, comparing competitors, reading sentiment, tracing citations, and deciding what to work on next.

What it does not do is make the work disappear. Monitoring does not create authority by itself. You still need credible content, real expertise, distribution, and enough time for AI systems to discover and re-evaluate those sources.

It also cannot guarantee that a model will mention you, and the answers will move as models and source indexes change. That volatility is the reason to monitor the same test over time.

7:45–8:25 — Free report and affiliate CTA

SCREEN — Show the free-report landing page and the description link.
